Looking after your staff

Wellness checks
As an employer, you have legal duty of care to all your workers.  Increasingly, staff expect you to take proactive steps to do this. You also benefit from looking after your staff’s health by reducing absences and improving productivity.  Our Wellness Checks can help you achieve this.  They give you an insight into the health of your workforce across several key health risks, including cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and kidney disease.  Your anonymised workforce report allows you to spot trends and develop wellbeing strategies to improve the health of your employees.

Our Wellness Checks not only provide employees with an insight into their own health which they see as a benefit,  but allows employers to take proactive steps to minimise the risk of absences from work through ill-health.

Substance misuse

Substance misuse
Alcohol or drug dependence is not only damaging to your employees’ health but can impact on their relationships and productivity at work, and ultimately it can lead to chronic ill-health and an inability to work.  Our Recovery Training teaches managers to spot the signs of substance misuse disorder and provides techniques to support staff who are seeking to address their own substance misuse. Our training helps employers take an active role in protecting their employees’ mental and physical health, whilst minimising the impact on your business.

How can we help?
When an employee’s substance dependence is affecting their ability at work, we can step in and work with you to manage the employee.  We are experts in holding the conversations your managers may find difficult whilst minimising the disruption to your operations.  We can provide an assessment, find and liaise with the right therapists on your behalf, and provide full documentation of the process for you as a record of what you have done to help.

Recovery coaching
A Recovery Coach is someone who has previously experienced substance misuse and is able to coach an employee with substance dependence as part of their recovery process. Training a Recovery Coach for your business demonstrates your commitment to the health and safety of your staff, provides a mechanism for someone to recover, and ultimately ensures an effective and productive workforce.
